Rustic 100 mm Slate
Rustic slate has a naturally uneven edge, giving each piece a more traditional, rugged appearance. Edge shape, texture and surface character will vary from piece to piece.

Because of this natural variation, the artwork is centred within the flattest usable engraving area of each individual slate, rather than necessarily being centred to the irregular outer edge.

Each Rustic slate is fitted with rubberised feet on the underside, helping to protect furniture when the slate is used as a coaster.

Welsh 100 mm Slate
Welsh slate has a smoother, more even edge and a cleaner, more uniform appearance while still retaining the natural character of genuine slate.

Each Welsh slate is supplied with a felt backing, helping to protect furniture when it is used as a coaster.

You can then choose between two finishes:

Natural Finish — £8.99
The engraving reacts naturally with the minerals in the slate. This means the engraved areas can vary in colour from warm bronze and grey tones through to pale silver or white, depending on the mineral content of each individual piece.

This variation is a natural characteristic of engraved slate and means that no two pieces will engrave in exactly the same way.

High Contrast Finish — £9.99
A stronger, brighter finish designed to make the artwork stand out more clearly.

Because slate has natural texture, contours and slight surface variation, some areas of the white engraving may appear slightly lighter, darker or less even than others. These small variations are normal and are part of the character of working with natural slate.

Coaster or Decorative Plaque
Your Viking slate can be used as a practical coaster or displayed as a decorative plaque.

An optional presentation stand can be added for £1.50, allowing the slate to be displayed upright. Simply remove it from the stand whenever you wish to use the slate as a coaster.

Every slate is individually engraved, checked and finished by Three Apples Workshop.
